The Epilog Zing Laser starter series is Epilog's small format, high-quality engraving line. The perfect desktop laser cutter for everything from home use to starting a business, the Zing Laser provides high-quality engraving and cutting, at a low cost. The Zing Laser provides incredibly fast engraving speeds at a low price, allowing you to create more product in less time. The system is user-maintainable, easy to use and provides engraving detail up to 1000 dpi, even at its highest speeds. Epilog's smallest laser, the Zing 16 laser machine, features a 16" x 12" (406 x 305 mm) work area and a maximum material thickness of 4.5" (114 mm) to engrave thicker items.
Wattage Options
Higher wattages allow you to run the laser at higher speeds to engrave to the same depth on materials, and you can also cut through thicker materials in a single pass. The Helix is available with 30, 40, 50, 60, and 80-watt laser options. You can buy it online with a 60 watt laser source, or any of the wattages through your distributor.
Do I need the Exhaust and/or Filtration System Accessory?
All lasers need to either exhaust to the outside or use an internal filtration unit to clean the air of dust and debris, so you can either use a filtration or exhaust unit listed above, or source one on your own. The Zing 24 laser recommends an exhaust fan that is rated at a minimum of 350 CFM for external exhaust. Factors such as length and type of tubing from the Epilog laser to the exhaust fan and from the exhaust fan to the outside of the building can produce significant losses on the true amount of air that is drawn from the Epilog laser. The Portable Exhaust Unit will require metal ducting leading to and from the laser system and exhaust fan. It attaches to a 4" exhaust port on the back of the laser system.
We have two available ventilation options online:
- FiltraBox Filtration Unit
- Portable Exhaust Unit
Shipping
All machinery is shipped in 1-2 weeks with a lift gate.
Training
Online training is included with the system through the Epilog Laser Training Suite that walks you through setting up your system, basic laser design concepts, and maintenance tips and tricks. For in-person training, please contact the distributor in your area to purchase additional training packages.
Is additional cooling required?
No, we use air-cooled CO2 lasers, so no additional cooling is required. The use of the metal/ceramic laser design allows us to fire the laser at higher speeds than other technology and provides a longer life on the tube before recharging is needed.
How do I get support?
Epilog's lasers come with a 2-year warranty that covers all parts of the system, including the laser tube. If you have an issue with your system, you'll call our Technical Support department, and they will help to diagnose the problem and ship the parts out to you. The machines are designed so they can be repaired easily by you, and the easy, step-by-step video instructions on the Training Suite walk you through replacement of many parts of the machine. Even after your warranty has expired, lifetime phone assistance is provided for the machines.
Where is the system manufactured?
We're proud to say all Epilog Lasers are 100% designed, engineered and built in the USA at our global headquarters in Golden, CO.
Why should I work with my distributor instead of buying online?
If you need additional help purchasing a machine, there is no one more experienced with our equipment than our distributors. They are our local contact for you and are able to assist you with in-person demonstrations, selecting the right machine for you, applications testing, and much more. They also have the full range of Epilog machinery available for purchase. You can find your distributor by clicking here.
I can't purchase with a credit card.
Your distributor can take a variety of payment options, including PO's and helping to set up lease payments. You can also use Paypal to send funds directly from a bank account.
I have more questions!
Contact us at 303-277-1188 and we'll be happy to answer any questions you have. If you're not ready to buy today, fill out the form on our website and we'll send you a full product line brochure and sample kit.
The higher the wattage, the thicker the materials you can cut through and the faster you can run the laser to get to the same engraving depth. A 30/40-watt laser source cuts up to 1/4" thick hardwoods and acrylics in a single pass. A 60-watt laser source cuts up to 3/8" thick hardwoods and acrylics in a single pass.

Air Assist Pump

Epilog's optional Air Assist Pump (air compressor) is available to work with the included Air Assist features of the laser systems. Direct a constant stream of air to your cutting surface to remove heat and combustible gases from the work area.
This high-quality air compressor unit feeds 30 psi of air through the Air Assist structure, giving you the best cutting results available. The rubber vibration-dampening feet reduce the noise level of the compressor, and connection is a breeze with our quick-connect inlet and outlet ports on the compressor and the laser system.
Cutting Grid

The Vector Cutting Grid on the Epilog Zing laser is used to lift materials being cut above the work surface. This allows the laser beam to pass cleanly through the material you are cutting and dramatically reduces underside reflections.
The air space below the vector grid is connected to the exhaust, so smoke is removed not only from the top side of the material, but also from the underside.
